DESCRIPTION

Myrrh Commiphora Myrrha is one of Julia’s favourite oils and is often overlooked in favour of frankincense. This precious oil was used by the ancient Egyptians in their cosmetics and perfumes. It has a rich heritage and its use is mentioned as far back as 3700 years ago.

The Commiphora species that yields Myrrh Oil is a shrub or small tree up to 10 metres high with sturdy knotted branches and aromatic leaves. Its trunk exudes a pale yellow liquid which hardens into reddish-brown tears known as myrrh.

Alongside gold and frankincense, myrrh is traditionally associated with the Christmas period. As well as being festive, it also is good for asthma, coughs, the common cold, catarrh, sore throats, weak gums and teeth, ulcers and sores.

Usage:

Bath: 5-10 drops.
Vaporiser: 3-5 drops.
Body & massage:
5 drops/10ml base oil.
